The Su-1 is an active, shielded, and balanced contact microphone that has been specifically developed for field recordings and sound design, as well as experimental instrument recordings. It's most effective when placed on the surfaces of objects that have strong vibrations, and comes with 2 different clips to facilitate the attachment to diverse surfaces.

Compared to other contact microphones, a comprehensive set of features sets this special microphone apart:

  • Extended bass response down to 12Hz
  • Balanced: supports stacking large cable lengths without increasing self noise.
  • Phantom powered circuit, so you don't have to buy a separate piezo preamp box. Everything is inside the microphone
  • Shielded housing: an inner layer of carbon coating reduces RF interference, resulting in very low noise performance.
  • Made in the Netherlands. We source all the individual (over 20!) components from many different countries, and then hand assemble the microphone in-house. You can find a fully transparent explanation of our source chain below.

Warning: when using the screw hole in the microphone, use ONLY the provided accessories (magnet and suction cup). Other clips might have a longer screw, which will damage the microphone permanently.
